Privacy Policy

This explains what Cruz keeps about you, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the Ghana Data Protection Act. We do not sell your personal data.

What we keep

Your account: email, password (stored scrambled, never readable), PIN (scrambled), name, handle, photo, bio, country, date of birth and the topics you chose. A phone number only if you add one.
What you do: posts, comments, likes, follows, saved posts, gifts, giveaway and treasure-hunt entries, and reports.
Messages: stored encrypted. Only the people in the chat can read them. Staff do not read messages, except one that you or someone else reports, which we review to act on the report.
Money: top-ups, gifts, prizes, cash-outs, and the bank, account name and account number you add to cash out (the account number is stored encrypted). We keep these records for as long as the law requires.
The device: sign-in sessions, your approximate location from your network (to protect your account and show your country's giveaways), and a notification address if you turn on push on that device.
Faults: when the app breaks we keep the error message, the page and a short technical trace. This never includes your messages, passwords, PIN or card details.

Why we use it

To run your account, show your feed, deliver gifts, messages and prizes, and pay out.
To keep people safe: spotting fraud, fake accounts, scams and abuse, and checking that a bank account is yours.
To fix faults and improve the app.
To follow the law, and to answer a lawful request from the authorities.

Who sees it

Other people: your name, handle, photo, bio, posts and public activity. You choose whether you appear on gifter lists and whether others see when you were last online (Settings, Privacy).
Companies that help us run the app: hosting and database, email and push delivery, payment and bank partners, image and video delivery, and live-room providers. They may use your data only to do that work for us.
Authorities, when the law requires it.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the app needs: to keep you signed in, to protect your forms from forgery, and to remember your theme. We do not use advertising cookies.

Your choices

See and change your details in Edit profile and Settings.
Turn notifications, sound and pop-ups off in Settings.
Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account through Help. We delete what we can; money records and anything the law makes us keep stay for the legally required time.
You may complain to your data protection authority (the NDPC in Nigeria, the Data Protection Commission in Ghana).

Keeping it safe

Connections are encrypted, passwords and PINs are scrambled, private fields are encrypted, and staff access is limited, logged and needs a reason. Each person's data is separated in the database so that an account can only reach its own. No system is perfect: if something happens that puts you at risk, we tell you.

Age

Cruz is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly keep data about anyone younger, and we delete it when we find it.
